This project file has been sitting in my Electric Quilt library for far too long.

The blocks have been there, along with sampler quilts, but no virtual designs, until this morning.
Only have to find some quilting motifs now.
read moreIt is very interesting to see Aussie native flowers in such pretty colours. The real colours are usually red, gold with grey green with red/brown sandy background.

So pretty, as opposed to the usual stunning red flowers with black centres, and dull green leaves spread over dust!.
read moreI love this mixture of pieced background filling in spaces around applique blocks.

I love the second design!
read moreThe first design does not look like the colours of Australia’s native Sturt Desert Pea, but the shapes are very much like the flowers, and as far as I know this species only comes in red, though there may be some whites ones.

read moreAll teh flower shapes are based on Australian native flowers, but the colours have mutated in my virtual world.

The second design is sort of a sampler, but all but one of the blocks have been repeated, most of them four times, one eight times.
read moreThis project file has a lot of flowers which are supposed to represent native Australian plants, but as I am not a great artist they are rather simplified depictions of the real deal.
I have also played with the colours. There are a wide variety of colours in the Aussie bush, but there are a lot of very strong colours in the red, orange and yellow range which don’t mix well with some of the softer pastels, while others come in a wide range of colours and shades in nature.
